A professional newborn photoshoot in my Gloucester studio. You'll choose your favourite photograph on the day, so there's no second appointment to fit around a newborn.
Your baby will be beautifully swaddled in your chosen colours, and captured as they are – wide-eyed or fast asleep.

So what actually happens at your session?
Your gifted session is a short and gentle one. I'll take around three photographs of your baby, who'll be beautifully swaddled throughout, plus one of my signature family silhouettes, and you'll choose your favourite for your folio before you leave.
For a lot of families that's exactly right. A beautiful photograph of your baby at their very tiniest, in an album you'll keep, without spending a penny.
Some families already know they want more than that. The posed photos, siblings in the frame, a proper gallery to choose from – the full record of what these few days actually looked like. That's the Signature Newborn Experience, and you can upgrade your gift to it if you'd like.
Either way, digital photos are bought separately. Your printed scan and folio photographs are the only ones included with your gift. If you'd like to order digitals from your session, you can order them all for £199, and your £99 deposit comes off that.

A longer, slower session, with time for everything you actually want photographed.
A pre-session consultation before baby arrives, so colours, styles and setups are all planned around your family

Step 2: Reserve Your Session
After your 20-week scan, I'll invite you to officially reserve your session with a refundable £99 deposit. Or you can choose to upgrade your gift to the Signature Newborn Experience for £125.
Step 3: Your Newborn Session
Your session takes place on the date you booked, usually around three weeks after your due date. If baby has other ideas, just let me know and we'll move it.
You'll choose your favourite photograph for your folio before you leave. If you'd like all the photographs from your session, they're £199 – your £99 deposit comes off that, so it's £100 on the day. Or have your deposit back in full if you'd rather just take your folio.
If you've upgraded to the Signature Experience, we'll confirm your date once baby is here, and you'll see your full gallery at a private reveal a week or two later.

I'm Katie Mitchell – pregnancy, baby and family photographer based in Longlevens, Gloucester. I've spent years helping mums capture the moments that sneak past before you've had a chance to blink. My sessions are relaxed and personal, and I love getting to tell your story.
Before this, I spent 17 years in the Army, which means I'm always prepared – so you don't have to be. I'll guide you through the whole experience, so you'll know exactly what to expect, every step of the way.
I'm a mum who's experienced the rollercoaster of fertility and pregnancy. So whatever your journey has looked like to get to this point – I'll make sure your photos do it justice.

Do I have to pay anything today?
No. Activating your gift takes about thirty seconds and doesn't ask for any bank details.
The first time money comes into it is after your 20-week scan, when I'll invite you to reserve your session with a £99 deposit. That's refundable – you can put it towards any photos you love at your session, or have it straight back.
I've only just had my scan – is it too early to activate?
Not at all – early is exactly right. Your gift is only valid for 14 days from your scan, so activating now is what keeps it alive.
It doesn't book anything or commit you to a date. It simply registers the gift in your name, and then I'll be in touch after your 20-week scan about reserving your session. If you're already past 20 weeks, I'll contact you straight away instead.
What if my baby comes early or late?
Not a problem. Your gifted session can happen any time in baby's first six weeks, so there's plenty of room for them to arrive when they feel like it.
I'll ask you to pick a date while you're still pregnant, because newborn slots go quickly and I'd rather you had one held. I usually recommend around three weeks after your due date – that way you're covered whether baby is early or runs over. And if something unexpected happens, just tell me and we'll sort it.
The Signature Experience works differently. Because those photos need baby at their tiniest and most curled up, we'll keep your date flexible and confirm it once they're here.
How much will I actually spend?
That's your choice entirely. Your gift covers the session and your folio album, so there's nothing you have to buy.
Most families do want the digital photos to keep and share. All the photographs from your session are £199 – and your £99 deposit comes off that, so it's £100 on the day.
If you've upgraded to the Signature Experience, you'll have a full gallery to choose from at your reveal, with digital collections starting at £299.
Why aren't digital photos included?
Because the photographs are the part I actually sell.
Imaginatal have covered your session and your handcrafted folio album, which is a lovely thing for them to do. What they haven't covered is the photographs themselves – and I couldn't give those away and still be here photographing babies next year.
You'll leave with your folio photograph whatever you decide. If you'd like the rest, all the photographs from your session are £199.
Can my partner and other children be included?
Yes, but in one photograph. Your baby stays swaddled throughout the gifted session, and I'll take a family silhouette with you all in it before you leave.
Proper family and sibling portraits are part of the Signature Experience. Everyone in the frame, siblings holding the baby, the photos that show just how tiny they are next to everyone who's been waiting for them. There isn't time for those in a short session, and they're worth doing properly.
How do you ensure my baby is safe during the session?
Safety is the thing I won't compromise on.
I've been photographing newborns for over nine years, I've completed multiple advanced newborn safety courses, and I'm trained in paediatric first aid.
Your baby is supported by me or by you at all times. Some of the more complex poses you'll have seen online are only ever made as composites – two photographs merged together – so your baby is never actually placed in them.
